EP1 - The Darling of the Material Handling World
The EP1 has revolutionized the world of material scheduling, tracking, and delivery. For material handling applications, the EP1 offers:
- Multiple Request Modes. Use the push button for basic requests or scan a label or part to make specific requests. Special barcode labels can be printed to include custom commands making one station capable of communicating endless different messages. Does your supply chain use RFID? 1D, 2D barcodes, RFID, or magnetic card readers - the EP1 can interface to any material identification system.
- Clear operator feedback. The multiple indicators and horn can clearly indicate the status of the request from pending to received, to in transit, or an alarm state. Front mounted, bright LED lamps can be seen clearly by operators 200' away. The beacon on top allows 360 degrees of visibility. And the loud horn, up to 100db can draw attention in even the most noisy environments.
- Delivered product verification. Stock can be scanned upon delivery (or at different stages of processing) to verify that the right parts are being handled. This allows verification and mistake correction early in the process, long before the product gets to the line. Scanning stock at the final point of delivery and scanning the destination rack ensure that the correct materials are in the correct place at all times.
- Quick to install and relocate. Simply plug the EP1 into any outlet, connect the Ethernet and you're up and running. Stations can be installed or relocated in a moment. The TCP/IP addressing makes every unit unique and capable of being relocated without reprogramming. With EP1 solutions, it's all plug and play.
- Unlimited reach. As a TCP/IP device, the EP1 can actually communicate between facilities in real time. JIT suppliers can track products right to their customer's assembly line. You can actually have your local material handling application connect directly to EP1s in multiple facilities, across town or around the globe. With the power of IT based flexibility, the potential is endless.
- Unlimited scalability. Large manufacturers with multiple facilities can use the EP1 to handle all material handling requests from all facilities from a centralized location and application. One application can connect to hundreds or thousands of EP1s in dozens of locations as if they were all in the same room. Managing systems is a snap. Local IT resources simply walk down to the plant floor, plug the units in and they can be instantly connected to the remote, master application. Dozens of facilities can be handled from a singel application. With plug and play devices and only one app to maintain, deployment is incredibly quick and maintenance is incredibly inexpensive.
